remote viewing part 2
by Richard Metzger - March 11, 2001
Sunstreak, sponsored by the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency), was one of a long line of programs conducted in the United States to observe psychic ability for possible use in espionage.

Interest in psychic spying first started in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Then the US got interested. Stanford University started a Remote Viewing program and Sunstreak (later Stargate) was born: dedicated to training individuals to methodically go out of their bodies to conduct intelligence research in places like the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War.

Famed remote viewers like Ed Dames, David Morehouse and Mel Riley have come to media attention of late, especially through Art Bell's radio show. Many of the military's former remote viewers have gone into the private sector as mercenary soothsayers.

Is there actually something to Remote Viewing or is a sucker born every minute? What else is going on that we don't know about?

Commentary on the CIA/AIR Report
"As a result of AIR's assessment, the CIA concluded that a statistically significant effect had been demonstrated in the laboratory, but that there was no case in which ESP had provided data that had ever been used to guide intelligence operations."

Remote Viewing: The ESP of Espionage
From Nexus magazine. What really struck me was the idea that Jim Schnabel of The Real X-Files program on the UK's Channel 4 might be a CIA disinformation operative.

Probable Future Mall
Remote viewing history started in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It's worth noting that the atheist Russians' research into PSI was purely pragmatic, not 'spiritual' and that no other country came close to them in the PSI arena.

The Skeptics Dictionary: Remote Viewing
These guys are such spoilsports! But do have a balanced meal, kiddies, especially where this stuff is concerned . . . Heaven forbid, you might turn into a conspiracy theorist, and we wouldn't want that, now, would we?
