Even though most of us associate them with those omnipresent black and white lines on everything from cling peaches to Hello Kitty merch, bar codes have evolved with the times. You can probably find a prime example of the newfangled 2D bar codes, which hold considerably more information than their forbearers, on the back of your driver's license.
