The Bible and the Mars/Egypt Connection
Left-field biblical prophecy meets Hancock and Bauval. Why won't NASA admit that the Sphinx is an angelic messenger of doom?
The Talk Origins Archive
A discussion of the 1996 NBC special 'The Mysterious Origins of Man'. The show was hosted by Charlton Heston and featured Hancock outlining his theories of continental drift and the Atlantis of Antarctica as they appeared in Fingerprints of the Gods. This site contains a very informed criticism of Hancock's choice of sources. Is the NRA's survivalist fringe preparing for the end of the world as prophesized by primeval Egyptian scribes?
The Nile Time-Map Theory
An in-depth illustrated essay based on what Bauval calls 'the Wider Plan', as described in his book The Orion Mystery.
The Giza Plateau Computer Model
Painstakingly constructed virtual Giza designed by the Oriental Institute.
Riddler of the Sands: A Profile of Graham Hancock
A brief Hancock bio from the Guardian, this describes his transformation from lowly foreign correspondent to New Age powerhouse.
The Latest from Giza Index Page
The most complete site about the Giza debate on the web, this reads like an scholarly thriller by Umberto Eco. Includes a detailed position statement from Hancock regarding the possibility of undiscovered chambers under the Sphinx that could reveal it to be far more ancient than previously assumed. There's also a statement Bauval on the 'Wider Plan' theory. Briefly put, the angles of the Nile correspond to those of certain celestial bodies; taking into account the mythological significance these constellations held to the ancient Egyptians, the river can be viewed as a time-map which shows a far older historical memory than was previously assumed. Adding to the esoterica is the contention that there are recurring patterns in pictures of the Cydonia region of Mars that recall prominent motifs of the Giza monuments. This site even includes an interview with Dr. Zahi Hawass, Egypt's Chief Inspector of Antiquities and the arch-nemesis of our intrepid heroes.
The Modern Riddle of the Sphinx
Includes Hancock and Bauval items relating to their recent collaborative effort 'The Message of the Sphinx', in which they maintain that weathering patterns on the monument indicate it is more than twice as old as generally accepted. There's also pertinent astronomical information and a profile of Edgar Cayce, the American clairvoyant whose psychic journeys led him through Atlantis and ancient Egypt.
The Sphinx Group-Recent News
Perhaps the most up-to-the minute of the Giza related resources we've seen, this has news on recent digs and discoveries, statements from Hancock on Bauval, Bauval on Hancock, and so on. This probably isn't the best place to start, but it's the joint for disciples. In case you thought no one takes this stuff seriously, I quote the following: 'From late February 1997 to only very recently, I have been incommunicado with everyone except my close family, a few hard-core friends, and my working colleagues Graham Hancock and John Grigsby. Because of this, many rumors have circulated as to my whereabouts, my health and, in one case (in Scotland apparently), whether I had not, indeed, been abducted by aliens or took my departure into the stellar realm of the Duat (Orion constellation).'-Robert Bauval, September 1998.
The Door in the Great Pyramid
Hancock on a mysterious door discovered in 1996, and the cover-up that he believes followed its discovery.
The Mysterious Structures That May Upstage NASA's Evidence Of Martian Life
Bauval and Hancock on the Cydonia/Giza connection, as described in their joint effort 'The Mars Mystery'.
The Orion Mystery
Official web page of Bauval's eponymous book, this examines the correlation between the positioning of the Giza pyramids and the stars in Orion's belt. There's also a profile of Bauval and graphics illustrating his theory.
Graham Hancock Homepage
A brand-new, hugely informative homepage.
The Mars/Earth Connection
A very fun and well-designed site with images and video relating to the link between ancient earthlings and ancient space cultures. Includes pictures of the Cydonia 'structures', or 'formations', if you prefer.
