For decades, experts have predicted that our overeliance on irreplaceable fossil fuels to run cars and other machinery will soon result in the total depletion of the world's oil reserves, leaving us in deep trouble. The good news is, there are many other ways to run a car that are more cost efficient and environmentally sound than using gasoline. Opponents of alternate fuel deployment include the oil conglomerates, who are loathe to scuttle a multi-trillion dollar industry, and anti-environment right wingers like Rush Limbaugh. But their greed and shortsightedness can't change the fact that we will run out of oil, and we should anticipate that day by developing and using alternate fuel technology now.
